News & Messages
- [July 1, 2018] I have get promoted to professor position.
- [July 1, 2018] I welcome excellent people to join us as Ph.D. students. I organize two projects in "Special Scholorship Programs" (SSP) to encourage Ph.D. students: one about structured parallel programming and the other about game informatics.
Research Topics
My main research interest is in parallel programming, especially in high-level parallel programming methodologies.
- Skeletal Parallelism: Skeletal parallelism is a methodology of easy parallel programming, in which users develop parallel programs with ready-made components called parallel skeletons. Our group with other universities are developing a parallel skeleton library SkeTo.
- Parallelism-Oblivious Programming: In the parallelism-oblivious programming research, we seek for a methodology of developing parallel programming without considering/specifying low-level parallelism.
- Algorithm Derivation: By using the "program calculation" technique that deals with programs themselves as the computation targets, we are studying methods of developing good algorithms and their implementations systematically.
- Other Topics: I also have interests about game/puzzle programming and programming education through programming contests.
Ongoing Research Projects
- PaPDAS: Parallel Program Development with Algorithmic Skeletons
Strategic International Cooperative Program (Japan (JST) - France (ANR)), Japan Science and Technology Agency, October 2010 - September 2009. - Practical Implementation of Skeletal Parallel Programming with Advanced Language Features (translation)
Grant-in-Aid for Young Scientists (B), the Ministry of Education, Science, Sports and Culture, April 2010 - March 2009.
