HUA: An Interactive Calligraphy and Ink-Wash Painting System

This study presents a novel Chinese calligraphy and painting system, which servers as an expressive vehicle for interactively creating Chinese traditional calligraphy and ink-wash painting works. We developed a brush model which gives the user natural control of complex brush strokes. This model enhances the realistic sense of the userĄ¯s manipulating the pen with the pressure sense. We also develop an ink-wash painting model which simulates Tuiyun ¨C a unique Chinese ink-wash painting technique. User feedback has shown that the system is able to create vivid art works easily and smoothly

SckechPoint
A Note-taking and Presentation System

This study provides a lightweight tool for workgroup participants, which will enable them to capture daily experiences and to communicate their ideas to others easily. Note-taking and presentation are two common and fundamental activities which may be viewed respectively as the capturing of experiences and the communication of ideas. We developed a system named SketchPoint that allows users to perform freeform note-taking, to author and give presentations informally. Our major contributions are characterized as follows: First, SketchPoint organizes freeform note-taking into a unified hierarchical structure. Second, SketchPoint offers a natural bridge between note-taking and presentations.
