III. Points of view: a www Research Project

Your group of 4 students is going to make a 4 page magazine.

Topic: some example of a pollution problem, a pollution issue.
The problem must have a pro side and a con side.

Example topic: Should we use nuclear power?

(Some people are pro, some are con.)

Please think about the recent homework:

1. Factors in a decision: questions about buying a car.
2. Points of view: different stories of a car accident.
3. Sides of an issue: salt content in prepared foods.

Homework 1: your team must find an issue to write about.

Look in the newspaper, in magazines, on the internet.

Homework 2: decide layout of your magazine. All pages must look the same.

Homework 3: each member writes one page

Homework 4: group makes a 4 page magazine about the issue.

Here are some examples of issues which your group could write about in the research project.

1. Should Japan stop whaling?
2. Should Japan stop using disposable chopsticks?
3. Should everybody stop driving cars?

Please try to find a new, different topic.
